Because we recently wrote an article listing the best bikes for men, we thought it would only be fair to write an article on the best bikes for women. You may be asking, what is the difference between men’s bikes and women’s bikes? There are a few small features that can make huge differences when it comes to riding.
Bike riding can be a great way to not only spend some time outside, but also get some exercise while you’re at it. It can also be a great way to bond with the family. For some, it can even be a fun competitive sport. No matter what your preference is, you should be able to find a bicycle on this list to match your lifestyle. We have selected a diverse group of bicycles on this list so that there is a little bit of everything. Hopefully this list will be able to accommodate riders of all skill levels and lifestyles. From the casual rider, to the professional competitor, this list should bring you one step closer to finding the best possible bike.
Women’s Cruiser Bicycles
The bikes on our list are not only built to match a female preference in taste, but also for comfort as well. These beautiful cruiser bikes are made by some of the biggest names in cycling; Cannondale, Scott, Specialized and more. The frame of each bike is fitted to fit women’s body shape and posture. This makes riding and racing as comfortable as possible.
Best Bicycles for Womens
Cannondale Synapse Feminine 5
Best Road Bikes for Women
First off we have the Cannondale Synapse Feminine 5. This bike gives riders a slightly different riding posture than what they may be used to. The shorter seat tube and longer top tube leads to a more upright position, which I for one find easier. The bike is built with an alloy frame and carbon forks. The seat angle of this bike is quite steep, while the head angle is a bit more relaxed. The bike comes in four different sizes, which is great if you happen to be extra small or on the taller side. The gears are Shimano 105, 9 speed gears. While it does come with a higher-end set of gears, this model manages to keep costs low, giving you a great bike that’s easy on your wallet.
The Giant SCR
Cheap Road Bike For Women
Next on our list is the Giant SCR. This bike, just like the last one is made with an alloy frame and carbon composite forks. The frame is built with a sloping design to make it more ergonomic. The build of the frame makes this bike the heaviest one on our list, which could be good or bad. If you like a steady bike this one could work out well for you. If you want something lighter and faster, we would recommend checking out some of the other bikes on this list.
Schwinn Ladies Perla
Best Cruiser Bikes For Women
I decided to throw this bike in the list even though it is a bit of an oddball. The Schwinn Ladies Perla is known as a cruising bike and it is designed specifically for women. This is a great option for more casual riders. You may not be able to win any races with this bike, but if you are just looking for long bike rides around the neighborhood, this one does the trick. It comes with nice 26 inch tires and it is a 7 speed. This is perfect if you just want to try your hand at cycling. It is extremely affordable at only a fraction of the price of a road bike, and may be all you need to start getting some fresh air and exercise.
Specialized Ruby Comp Compact
Good Bicycle For Women
This next bike is great. The Specialized Ruby Comp Compact is very well built and well designed. The bike comes with great proportions that make riding very easy. The frame is made from durable carbon. The shocks on this bike are very well made, and they are able to absorb almost all of the road’s vibrations. This compact bike is made with great angles that make it look nice and ride well. In terms of riding, it has a sporty feel to it with the Shimano 105 10 speed gears. This bike is able to stay light at only 8.3 kg. The bike is available in 5 different sizes so it should be able to fit you no matter how tall or short you are. I always like to see bikes that come in multiple different sizes. It makes it so that everyone gets a chance to ride!

Schwinn Discover Women’s Hybrid Bike
Hybrid Bikes for Women
The Schwinn Discover Women’s Hybrid Bicycle is what is known as a hybrid. This means that this bicycle can handle a variety of different terrains. Some people find this feature extremely useful as they transition between bumpy off-road terrain and smooth ground. This bike has extremely good shop absorbtion which makes it more comfortable to go over small bumps in the road. At the same time it is able to pick up decent speed on flat surfaces. The bike comes with Promax alloy linear pull brakes which are important for short stops, particularly on rough terrain. The padded saddle adds even better shock absorption and keeps you comfortable on longer rides. The bike is very well made, with an aluminum city frame and a Schwinn Suspension fork and alloy crank. To top it all off, it looks nice with its swept back design and cool white paint job.
The Orbea Diva TPB
Great Bike For Women
Next we have the Orbea Diva TPB. This bike comes with a bit of a price tag, but it is well worth it. It comes with a full carbon composite build, comprising both the frame and the forks. This makes the bike sturdy, but also slightly heavier, weighing in at about 8kg. The angles are placed just right in the frame to make this bike easy to look at and easy to ride. It comes with Shimano Ultegra 10 speed mated to a Zeus Ziclon compact chain set with 34/50 tooth chain rings. This bike is a bit of a hybrid, comprising the benefits of both the normal double and triple. One small problem I had with this bike is that it only comes in two different sizes, but that shouldn’t be a problem for most women as the sizes should fit just about everyone.
The Vilano Aluminum Road Bike
Best Bike For Women
Last but not least on our list is the Vilano Aluminum Road Bike. This bike looks great and comes with 21 different speeds and Shimano derailleurs. The frame is constructed with the highest quality and lasts for many years. The padded seat keeps you nice and comfortable on longer rides and I absolutely love the Urban Comfort alloy handlebars. You couldn’t ask for better specifications on a women’s bike. Perfectly designed to fit a woman’s physique, available in three sizes and designed with the highest quality materials. The aluminum frame and fork are also a nice touch, although I can’t say I’m surprised because everything about this bike screams quality. All of this, and the bike is still available at a very affordable price. It may not be the cheapest on the list, but for what you pay for it is certainly the best.
So there you have it, our picks for the best bikes for women. Before you go out and purchase one of these, make sure you know what you are looking for. Ask yourself how experienced of a rider you are. If you just started cycling around the neighborhood, try and go for a cheaper model. You can always upgrade later but this way you won’t be risking much money if you determine that cycling just isn’t for you. By paying more money, you often get a bike that is lighter and faster. That is not a necessity for someone who just wants to go for a ride around the neighborhood, so you shouldn’t need to worry about that.
Bike Sizes For Women
The next thing you should be thinking about is your size. This is something you can easily get fitted for at any local bike shop. Once you have determined what size you are, it will be that much easier to pick out a bike that matches your specifications. As mentioned in some of the reviews, many bikes come in a variety of different sizes. While this may be very helpful, sometimes it can lead to a bit of a headache when you don’t know what size you are. Be sure to look into bike sizes for women before you make any purchasing decision.
Cruiser Bikes For Women vs. Road Bikes For Women
Another thing to consider is what will you be using this bike for. If you like to go on long leisurely rides around town, you may want to go that extra mile (no pun intended) to find a bike that gives you the highest level of comfort. Little things like bicycle seat can make a big difference especially during longer rides. If you are planning on entering in races in the future, you will want to invest in a bike that is lighter and faster. If the races are long distance, with many uphills and downhills, you may want to invest in a bike with better gears. With more gears, you will eventually be able to dial in what setting you need as soon as you start hiking up the hill. Sometimes with fewer gears it’s tough to get that perfect setting and you tend to either pedal too slow or too fast.
Anyways, we hope you have enjoyed this list. If you have any comments or suggestions, please leave them in the comments section below. Be sure to check out some of our other articles on this website for more great buying guides. See you next time!
